News

A4500-Northampton Road-High Street Road Closures August 12th - 14th 2015 (click here for full article and road closure map)

Works will commence shortly that will affect access and will affect access to the A4500 and High St / Northampton Rd, Harpole.

Every effort will be made to limit the effect of these works on adjacent properties but it must be appreciated that some inconvenience will result. If there are any causes for concern or for general information about the works, please contact the Area Technician on the telephone number given.

Harpole Neighbourhood Plan (click here for full article)

Now that the Join Core Strategy for West Northamptonshire, covering housing, industrial development and infrastructure such as roads, has been agreed the Neighbourhood Plan for Harpole is being progressed. Please come and join the teams working on the Harpole Neighbourhood Plan to see the areas discussed so far, and to give your thoughts and input to the plan at our Open Day on the 5th July (see the Harpole Neighbourhood Plan Open Day event for time and location).

Further information about the Neighbourhood Plan can be found at http://www.harpoleactionteam.co.uk/.

The 5 key topic areas of the plan are...

Fly Tipping

Over the past few days there has been numerous cases of Fly Tipping within the Harpole area some of which has been dumped in broad daylight.

We have reported the incidents to SNC and they have cleared them within a couple of days but we need to stop this happening in the first place.

If you see anything suspicious please report it to the police asap on 101 and let the Parish Council know also if safe to do so please take photos where possible that cold be used as evidence.

Superfast Broadband Update

Harpole now has Superfast broadband. We are now officially on the fibre network.

BT says we can now get up to 76meg, up from 2.

Please contact BT or your Broadband service provider to ask how you can take advantage of the new fibre network.

We would just like to make clear that one does not automatically get Superfast broadband just because it is available in the village. You have to ask your provider for it

Change to Mobile Library Times

The Parish Council have just received the following notification from SNC.

'Following consultation with customers about the Sunday Mobile Library Service, and to enable us to deliver a consistent and sustainable service, we are making some changes to the Sunday routes. We are merging routes as customers are telling us they would prefer later stops on Sundays. This is also more efficient use of resources, making longer routes on Sundays.'

There is a danger that we may in the future lose this service so we would encourage as many people as possible to use the library service to keep it going.
The Library service also offers, Information Points, Local enquiries, Council enquiries, Library Shops, Cards, Bags, Stamps, Toys, Calendars, DVDs, Puzzle books, Bus Pass Registrations, Children’s Books.

The new timetable from 1st March will now be the fourth Sunday of every month at the following places.
School lane 13:50 14:10
Carr’s Way 14:20 15:00
